Are you an aspiring community activist, social entrepreneur, or disruptive innovator? Do you want to be a part of a team building business ideas that will have real impact in our communities? Camp Chez Innovation aspires to empower high school age students to think in fresh ways about one of the state's unique strengths-- its food ecosystems-- to create change.
This 8-day overnight camp is a crash-course in the food industry, and daily site visits give campers a behind-the-scenes look at every step in the food production chain – from the barnyard to the board room. With daily journaling, coursework, and coaching, students will synthesize what they learn in real time to create their own business proposals, which they will pitch to a panel of industry leaders at the end of the week.
Campers stay at Roosevelt International Academy, an academic boarding program overlooking India Point Park. Evenings involve a mix of fun activities and hard work as kids prepare to impress the panel of advisors.
Students can apply online by submitting their best answers to essay questions here. This camp explicitly seeks to enroll students from a wide mix of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
